Google Merchant Center problems on Wix
The store check reads your site. Fixes come with steps to paste into your pages.
How to start
Run the free store check, or create a ShieldKit account and add your site. The first full store check (up to 11 checks) is free.
The free check on the website runs 7 of the 11 checks, with no account and nothing to install.
How fixes work
- Every problem comes with plain-English fix steps.
- With Recovery, we write your refund and shipping policies from your answers, and draft your privacy policy and terms. You paste each one into your Wix editor, with steps for where it goes.
- Wix publishes each page at its own address, so add the new page to your site’s footer menu once you’ve saved it.
Prices and hidden problems
- Price Watch checks the prices on your product pages on Wix: the price Google reads against the price shoppers see, and strikethrough prices that aren’t a real discount.
- With Google Merchant Center connected, it also compares each product with Google’s own price.
- Free shows how many products are affected; Monitoring and Recovery list each one.
- With Recovery, the deep check looks for causes a quick look misses: template text left on a page, social links that go to the theme maker, trust claims with nothing to back them up, urgency pop-ups and broken menu links.
You can also connect your Google Merchant Center account, read-only, to see Google’s own issues next to the store check.
8 of the 11 checks on Wix
Your site, policies and contact details are read from the pages themselves. Product data and product images need a product list, and a Wix site publishes none ShieldKit can read, so they come back Not checked. Business identity runs once you connect your Merchant Center account.

Merchant Center
How a Wix store gets its products to Google
Wix doesn’t push your products to Google. It gives you a feed address, and Merchant Center fetches that address on a schedule you choose, which means your products are only as current as the last fetch rather than as current as your store. Wix says products sync according to the feed schedule you create.
- 1
In your Wix dashboard, open the Marketing Integrations section, go to Google Catalog and copy the catalog link.
- 2
In Merchant Center, add a products source from a file, paste that address, then set the update schedule, your country of sale and a feed label.
- 3
After a price or stock change, use Fetch Now on the Feeds page instead of waiting for the schedule. Until it runs, Google is still reading yesterday’s products.

What usually goes wrong on Wix
A scheduled feed is why a corrected price still reads as wrong
You fixed the price in Wix, Google is still holding the one from the last fetch, and the mismatch stays until the feed runs again. Use Fetch Now, then look in Merchant Center rather than at your own page to see whether it landed.
How to fix a price mismatchWhat a product’s Additional Info sections say never reaches Google
Wix says information in those sections can’t be included in the Merchant Center catalogue feed. So anything a shopper needs to know before buying — a handling fee, a made-to-order delay, a condition — has to be in the product description or on a policy page, not only in an Additional Info tab.
How to fix hidden fees at checkoutDigital products and subscriptions can’t be sold this way
Wix says they can’t go through Merchant Center. A catalogue that arrives smaller than your store is often this, working as documented.
Policies, and the footer menu
Add a page per policy, publish it, and add each to your site’s footer menu. A Wix page is only reachable once something links to it.
